California, Route 395 is full of beautiful little spots for adventures. One of them is Hot Creek Geological Site near Mammoth Lakes. It is a super cool quick stop to check out some beautiful geothermal pools.

These pools are not inhabitable. It is completely fenced off and no one is allowed to swim in the baths. Even still, if you are heading to the Mammoth Mountain area, it is definitely worth checking out!

I was not one to think the desert to be beautiful , but man am I a believer now. Death Valley was absolutely beautiful. One moment you can be standing hundreds of feet below sea level and the next you could be standing at the top of mountain overlooking beautifully colored rock. From sand dunes to salt flats, Death Valley has so much to offer.

If you haven't been up to Death Valley National Park you should definitely put it on your list of places to visit.

One of my favorite places in Yosemite National Park is Upper Cathedral Lake. This beautiful alpine lake, along with its companion Lower Cathedral Lake, is situated in the Yosemite high country at the base of Cathedral Peak.

Upper Cathedral Lake sits at an elevation of 9,585 feet, while Lower Cathedral Lake just lives up to its name at 9,288 feet. Both lakes provide views of the steeple-like formations of Cathedral Peak

Bridal Veil Falls is a short hike in Yosemite National Park. This hike is very short and leads to a towering waterfall.!

Bridal veil Fall is one of my favorite water falls in Yosemite National Park. The water cascades off a massive granite wall to a height of 620 feet and the best part about it is that you don’t have to hike for hours to see it. It is visible from a number of points in the park.

In spring, it thunders; during the rest of the year, look for its characteristic light, swaying flow. When the wind blows hard, Bridalveil’s water seems to flow sideways, and in times of lesser water flow the water doesn’t seem to reach the ground. This particular phenomenon inspired the Native American name of “Pohono”, or Spirit of the Puffing Wind for the waterfall.
