Things I’m Looking Forward To After Quarantine

The stay-at-home order is finally ending! We have been cooped up indoors for so long now and unsurprisingly, the restrictions on our movement and daily interactions have made us miss the simple things and crave getting out of the house that much more…It’s funny to think that we’ve been taking so many things for granted before quarantine started…Well, I can say now with certainty that I will not be taking these things for granted anymore!

If you’ve been daydreaming about your favorite activities in between Zoom meetings and baking sourdough bread, you’re not alone. Let’s talk about the things we missed and are very excited to get back to!!

Hanging out at your local coffee shop

I miss hanging out at my local coffee shop – the greeting faces of my cheerful baristas and running into friends along the way. I can’t wait to enjoy a warm cup of coffee while reading a magazine/book with the wonderful aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.

Movie Nights

I’m not a huge movie buff, but I miss the whole experience of watching a movie on a big screen wrapping my arm around my hubby’s while destroying a large tub of popcorn together. And the romantic dinner that follows… Don’t even get me started…

Dinner Dates

One thing my man and I were really looking forward to was going to our favorite date night spots together, just the two of us!! We have cooked so much lately that I can’t wait to dine out and not have to deal with dishes or clean up haha!

Doing a big get-together

I sorely miss having family and friends over for dinner. I enjoy planning and putting together a meal everyone would enjoy… (Missing your peeps extra hard today? I feel ya. )

Shopping

I used to not think twice about running to the local mall. Though actual “shopping” while shopping might be limited, I miss the experience of it. After not being able to do any of those things for over two months, I cant wait until Im safely able to go shopping again!

Road Trips

It’s not so much the driving, But staying at small B&Bs’ and taking the unbeaten? Road has always been an integral part of our road trips and with most small businesses shuttered during the pandemic… Yea.. That’s gone too

I’m not sure when we will feel safe enough for some serious travel, but I would love to start the next travel adventure, visit exciting places and make new memories!

Eating out at your favorite restaurant

Most restaurants offer curbside pickups, but I really miss the joy of holding the buzzer when it goes off and getting the seat with the view, and the joy when they bring that second basket of fresh bread.

Self-Pampering

This list wouldn’t be complete without bringing up the big issue of self-care appointments. I cant wait to go get my hair cut, get a mani/Pedi and get my eyebrows waxed, and I’m starting to look a lot like my brother now.

I would love to hear what you’re looking forward to doing post quarantine!

I miss having people at my dinner table AND going to their dinner table. I have come to the conclusion that video conference calling is a gift during this time, BUT it is a far cry from being with folks face to face. There is that special buoyancy that happens when we are together, you know? So, I look forward to visiting with folks inside our homes again.
    Love you Navina, D
